HELPFUL INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL AID SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS TOWARD HIGHER EDUCATION TUITION COSTS:

The Ocean View Memorial Foundation annually awards approximately $100,000 to students who are residents of the Grand Strand community to assist them in their higher education goals. Students planning to attend any discipline accredited college or university, in a two- to four-year undergraduate program, can receive up to $2,500 per year or as much as $10,000 in tuition grants over a four-year period.

Preference will be given to students who are pursuing a degree in health sciences, such as nursing, premed, radiology, etc., or otherwise pursuing a career in the field of health care.

After the Foundation approval of a grant, the student is obligated to maintain a “B” average and enroll in a minimum of 15 hours of study per semester, or an annual total of 30 hours in a trimester program, in order to receive a grant towards the next year’s tuition cost.

It has been increasingly difficult for the Foundation to determine which applicants are most worthy. To be helpful to you, and to aid you in determining your possibility of approval, we are outlining the criteria and conditions that help determine who will be the successful recipients. The Board’s decision is final.

Answer all application questions, including requested financial data. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Application must be filled out prior to April 1st for consideration. Applicants will be notified as to the Board’s decision on or before May 15.
