In 1958, the Ocean View Memorial Hospital (OVMF) opened its doors in Myrtle Beach – the result of a true community effort to make the dream of a local hospital a reality. And, after endless cake sales, chicken bogs, fish fries, other fundraising drives, and hundreds of memorial contributions, the hospital was born.

On July 1, 1978, this nonprofit organization was designed to fund and create programs that will enrich the well-being and cultural life of the Grand Strand in the areas of healthcare, human development, civic improvement, and higher education scholarships.

For the past nearly 50 years, OVMF has distributed millions of dollars for programs and people in need and deserving of financial aid in the Grand Strand area and the Foundation is dedicated to remaining steadfast in this mission for many years to come.
