From Day One in 1978, Ocean View Memorial Foundation (OVMF), successor to Ocean View Memorial Hospital, had a purpose and mission as a nonprofit organization to provide grants to a variety of tax-exempt groups and programs and tuition scholarships to qualified students in the Grand Strand area based on merit and need.
Our board is committed to continuing this philanthropic mission we were originally founded on. This is made possible from the net assets funded from the liquidation of the Ocean View Memorial Hospital, which were contributed to the foundation and are treated as endowed principal of the foundation. These principal amounts are invested, along with a portion of surplus earnings, to ensure that sufficient funds are available for the many grants and scholarships in need each year.
We are passionate about our vital position in the Grand Strand community that helps to improve programs and organizations that help others, and acting as a financial shoulder to lean on for students in need for a brighter future.
