Founded on July 1, 1978, Ocean View Memorial Foundation (OVMF) was originally incorporated as a nonprofit, charitable branch of the Ocean View Memorial Hospital in Myrtle Beach, and today serves as its successor … nearly 50 years later.
Overseen by a volunteer board of directors, OVMF provides financial aid by way of grants or tuition scholarships to deserving causes and people through the distribution of any operating surplus that has been generated by our capital.
Areas of Aid
We know there is a wealth of diversified needs that can be funded throughout the Grand Strand area. The bylaws and grant-making policies founded by OVMF specify financial aid for four distinct categories:
- Higher Education Scholarships, which aids qualified high school seniors to continue their education.
- Projects That Combat Juvenile Delinquency and Community Deterioration throughout the Grand Strand area.
- Community-Wide, Non-Sectarian, Beneficial Programs that further the charitable, educational, and scientific purpose of the foundation.
- Healthcare Programs sponsored by nonprofit organizations that serve the Grand Strand area.
